Like a Coffee Bean without the Coffee Random Section Current mood: Random Section To Write Love On Her Arms To many people, I bet that doesn't mean anything. It's means a lot to me though. TWLOHA is an group that helps teens that suffer from depression, self injury, or drug abuse. About two years ago I was in a very depressed state, I had no where to turn to. No one to turn to. Then I found out about To Write Love On Her Arms. I read the website and it made me realize what was going on. This organization has changed my life. I hope all of you will check it out, and advertise for this wonderful foundation. It has helped many people, and I want you to help even more. Please, just buy something from the store, or sign up for the street team. It only takes a few minutes, but you will feel so good after signing up. You will help so many people in need. http://www.twloha.com/page.php?id=6 Catty Bean Random Section So the school year has officially started. I know, I know, it's nothing to be happy about. But when the school year starts, you get to hear more from me because that means I am on the computer, pretending to work..but actually I'm typing a journal :D lol Currently I am reading a lot of informational books about Australia. But the most recent one I have picked up is amazing. It is 'In a Sunburned Country' by Bill Bryson. Bill is a wonderful author, he writes books telling about his experiences traveling. His work is not just full of information, but really fun to read. He tells of his, mostly awkward, times in Aussie. Each page you will find something to research and something to laugh at. I would really recommend getting any of his books, fore they are fantastic. Slipknot has been out for some time now. They came out with their newest CD recently (All Hope is Gone) and it is phenomenal. Each song is filled with heavy metal riffs and hard drum beats. It is worth listening to. (Check out Sulfur) A Fine Frenzy (which consists of Alison Sudol) is a indie rock band. Her music is mostly piano based, and her voice is gorgeous. (Check out Almost Lover) Melody Gardot is a good role model for anybody. This strong female, with the voice of an angel, was crippled at 19. But she has worked really hard and now can walk with a cane. (Check out Worrisome Heart) ( Catty Bean Random Section Ok, so I haven't actually updated this in a while, but because someone friended me I thought I should. So I just got back from camping about three hours ago. It was super fun but made me so tired. I am going back next saturday. I met this uber cute guy, his name is Nick. He has curly brown locks and gorgeous eyes. *swoon* lol So I just finished a book called Made in the U.S.A by Billie Letts. It is about two siblings, Lutie and Fate, who have lost a lot in life, so they move to Las Vegas. I would also recommend Where the Heart is by the same author. Another book I will recommend is The Lake House by James Patterson, it is the second book to When the Wind Blows, but you don't really need to read the first to follow the second. But it is always better to read them both. The story is about Six mutated children, trying to survive in the world. Kerli is a wonderful singer with interesting music. Her album (which I just got) just came out on the 8th. Her music is diverse, she is from Estonia. (Check out Walking on Air) Finger Eleven is a semi popular band, most known for their song Paralyzer. But their CD is full of catchy tunes, but it is a bit repetitive. (Check out their CD Them vs. You vs. Me) We the Kinds is a pop band from Florida. There music has some traces of rock, but mostly pop. The music slightly resembles Cute is What we Aim for, but with a better vocalist. (Check out Check Yes Juliet) ( Catty Bean Current mood: Random Section So yesterday I went shopping, but we didn't have time to get a fish because we could have gone to Waterville and we were in Augusta and it was late. I am going to list off what I got because I can... a guitar door curtain Pink and white skull scarf Black and white skull scarf Black and white striped leggings Black glitter hoop earrings Pink and white dot earrings Black and red dangle earrings Black cross necklace black vinyl headband Ugly plaid arm warmers Giraffe stuffed animal Ducky wrist support doll for my sister dog for my brother black Skull visor Daughters of the moon #3 Amp Magazine If you haven't noticed I am into shopping...hehe... and the thing is all of this cost me 25 dollars...Yay me for saving money. Yeah so today me and my mom are taking Minnie Trixie and Linus to the vet for shots and checkups. Luckily it is raining out so the cats don't want to go outside, so they are easier to catch! I am still highly recommending the Daughters of the Moon series today. But I would also like to suggest the books Tithe and Valiant by Holly Black. They are really interesting and have stores about teenagers that get caught up in the world of Faerie. Lacuna Coil is an amazing band from Italy. They are a gothic metal band with a lady singer (check out Closer) Chevelle is a band that has been out for a while and have produced good bass infused metal each time (check out Well Enough Alone) Lily Allen is a young british lady with a very sharp tongue. I would recommend her to anybody with a comical side. Her music is pop/ska but normally unidentifiable (check out Alfie) Catty Bean Current mood: Random Section So, I'm kinda new at this whole LiveJournal thing. And I really don't know what to say because most of the people reading this already know who I am. There I go off already blabbering. Well today I plan on bugging my mother to go shopping for a new fish and a new book because my fish died while I was camping. R.I.P Ryan Peter I am really into a series called Daughters of the Moon, and I want the third one. The books have been out for a while but they are totally worth the read. I also recently got into a book called The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It is a book riddled with history about Vampires. You will read this book and know things about vampires you thought you would never learn. It is a great mystery, but it may take a while for you to get into. Very complicated. I have really gotton into the Klaxons. There music is electronica rock/pop. It is fun and energetic to listen to (check out Golden Skans) The White Stripes are really good. I have listened to a few songs off of their new album and I can't wait to hear the whole thing. (check out Icky Thump) Paramore has a great new cd out called Riot! Be sure to pick it up because it has some awesome songs on it (check out Misery Business) Catty Bean Current mood: |
